Falmouth and Penryn are located in an environment of outstanding natural beauty. Falmouth is a seaside coastal town and port with the third deepest natural harbour in the world. Penryn is an ancient market town. Both locations continue to enjoy a long and successful maritime history.
For centuries, artists, designers and craftspeople have settled in Cornwall, inspired by their surroundings from the famous Newlyn and St Ives schools to new dynamic and contemporary practices to be found in Falmouth and Penryn.

University College Falmouth is the leading centre for the development of art, design, media and the performing arts in the South West. It is not surprising therefore that Cornwall has the highest concentration of artists and writers outside London. Designers too are developing an innovative, dynamic and international profile and Cornwall is currently involved in a bid to become Europe’s first ever Region of Culture.

Travel to and in Cornwall

There are a number of ways that you can travel to Cornwall, details of which can be found below.

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact. One way of achieving this is to encourage all visitors to use ‘green’ or sustainable transport when and where available. The Green Travel Guide below provides advice on how to do this. For journey planning we also suggest you consult Travel Line or Cornwall County Council's transportation guide.

Travel to Tremough Campus, University College Falmouth.

University College Falmouth has two campuses: Woodlane in Falmouth and Tremough, about 20 minutes away, near Penryn. The conference is being held at the Tremough Campus. Please see the campus map below. The reception and the conference dinner are to be held in Falmouth. Transportation will be provided from Tremough to both these events, but delegates staying at the campus will have to make their own way back afterwards. We are currently in the process of negotiating rates with local taxi companies and will provide details of these to delegates on their arrival. Please see EXHIBITION EVENTS page for more details.
